"In a diverse genre such as post-hardcore, a whole sphere of influence can leave you comfortable with seeking out the same sound (I'm guilty of it), but Massa Nera here reminds me to re-listen to the greats, with such an extensive library at my disposal. The buildup, the mixing, the heaviness, the resonance... is perfection. The exceptional drum work might serve as vocals in its own right, sounding like the collective chanting of the band itself. I'm thankful it's getting the recognition it truly deserves, because this might as well fit in the best pxc albums of the decade."
